Unstuck and Unstoppable: Your Guide to Building the Life You Want in 2025

Dec 19, 2024

New Year, Here I Come... As the end of the year approaches, it’s natural to start thinking about what’s next. But let’s be honest—how many times have you set big goals for the new year only to feel stuck, frustrated, or like you’re spinning your wheels a few months in?

If you’re anything like the countless people I’ve worked with, you’re probably tired of feeling like you’re on a hamster wheel—repeating the same patterns in your relationships, career, health, or even your self-worth.

It’s exhausting. It’s demoralizing. And sometimes, it feels impossible to change.

I’ve been there too…

I remember sitting at my kitchen table one cold December evening a few years ago, staring at a blank journal page. The same journal I’d optimistically bought the previous January, thinking, This is the year everything changes.

And yet, there I was again—same frustrations, same goals I hadn’t quite reached, and the same nagging feeling that maybe I was the problem. Maybe I just wasn’t trying hard enough. Maybe I wasn’t built for the kind of success or fulfillment I dreamed about.

Sound familiar?

We live in a world that glorifies hustle and quick fixes. Manifest it! Work harder! Want it more! But what no one tells you is this:

If you don’t shift the story you’re living in, you’ll keep hitting the same walls no matter how much effort you put in.

I believed for a long time that the answer was to try harder—work more, give more, sacrifice more. But all that did was leave me burned out, resentful, and still stuck in the same place. I made some progress, but it was never enough.

Then, during a particularly messy season of my life—strained relationships, uninspired work, a version of me I didn’t even recognize—something shifted.

I stopped.

I stopped chasing, stopped distracting myself, and sat down with myself. Out of sheer desperation, I asked myself questions I’d been avoiding for years:

  • Why do I keep finding myself in these same situations?
  • What do I truly want, and why haven’t I been able to create it?
  • What am I afraid to face about myself?

It wasn’t an easy process, but it was the beginning of everything changing.

What I realized then was that for most of us the stories we live by run the show.

The stories we tell ourselves—those deep, often unconscious beliefs about who we are and what we deserve—shape our entire lives.

When we feel stuck, it’s often because we’re living out stories that no longer align with who we are or where we want to go. But because those stories feel familiar, we hold onto them.

Think about it:

How many times have you avoided saying what you really want, pursued goals that didn’t light you up, or stayed in situations that drained you just because it felt safer than rocking the boat?

Maybe your story is, “I’m not good enough.”

Or, “I have to make everyone else happy before I take care of myself.”

Or, “I’ll never find a partner who truly sees me.”

Whatever it is, those stories create patterns—patterns that keep showing up in your relationships, career, and even the way you see yourself.

And the thing about patterns? They’re hard to break. Not because you’re weak, but because they’re comfortable.

The good news? There’s another way.

Imagine this: You wake up on January 1, 2025, and instead of feeling overwhelmed by resolutions or weighed down by old doubts, you feel clear. Light. Excited.

You’re not trying to overhaul your entire life overnight. Instead, you’re taking small, intentional steps toward the life you truly want. And with every step, you feel more aligned, more confident, and more you.

It’s possible.

It starts with clarity.

One of my clients (we’ll call him Mark) came to me saying, “I want to be happy again. I’ll be happy if I lose weight.”

It seemed clear to him: Lose weight, feel happy. Simple, right?

But Mark had tried everything—diets, health gurus, exercise plans. And every time he hit a wall, he felt more like a failure.

The truth was, Mark didn’t lack willpower. What he lacked was clarity. Together, we started exploring the patterns and beliefs that were really holding him back. Once he began to break through those stubborn old stories, everything started to change.

Where do YOU begin?

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, I want you to take a deep breath. Creating a fulfilling life doesn’t mean you have to overhaul everything all at once. It doesn’t mean you need to have all the answers or that you’ve “failed” for being stuck in the first place.

The truth is, feeling stuck doesn’t mean you’re broken. It just means you’ve been following patterns and stories that don’t align with who you truly are—or who you’re ready to become. And sometimes, when we’ve been stuck for so long, it feels safer to stay there than to take a step into the unknown.

But here’s what I want you to hear right now:

Change doesn’t happen in giant leaps. It happens in small, brave steps. Steps that honor where you’ve been, but move you closer to where you want to go.

The journey to creating the life you want begins with awareness—shining a light on the places you’ve been stuck and gently, courageously choosing to do something different.

If you’re ready to take that first step, here’s a simple way to begin:

Start Here: Your First Small, Brave Step

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

1. Spot the Pattern

Take a moment to think about one area of your life—relationships, career, health, or self-worth—where you feel stuck.

What keeps repeating here? Is it saying “yes” when you want to say “no”? Avoiding hard conversations? Letting fear hold you back from pursuing something you truly want?

2. Name the Story

What’s the deeper belief driving this pattern?

Is it… “If I set boundaries, I’ll disappoint people,” or “I’m not good enough to go after what I want”? Sometimes, these stories have been running in the background for so long, we barely notice them.

3. Imagine the Possibility

Pause for a moment and imagine your life without this pattern holding you back. What would feel different? What would it be like to show up in your relationships, career, or daily life with more confidence, joy, and freedom?

4. Take One Small Action

What’s one small, intentional step you can take this week to challenge that pattern?
It doesn’t have to be perfect. It doesn’t have to be big. Maybe it’s saying no to something that feels overwhelming. Maybe it’s having that one conversation you’ve been avoiding. Or maybe it’s simply reminding yourself that your needs and dreams matter.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Take a moment to write this down. Yes, right now. Open a journal or jot a note on your phone. Don’t overthink it—just let it flow.

Because this isn’t about fixing everything at once. It’s about creating momentum. Every small step is proof that you’re capable of rewriting the story you’ve been living in.

And remember, you don’t have to do this perfectly. You just have to begin.

You may be thinking “If I do all this, then what?”

Reflection is just the beginning. Real transformation happens when you take what you’ve learned and use it to create a roadmap for the future.

You don’t have to do this alone.

Every year, I open spots in my coaching program for people who are ready to break free from old patterns and step into a life that feels aligned, joyful, and deeply fulfilling.
